It is a very student-friendly city, as its public transport system makes it easy to move around both within the city and across different suburbs. The transport system uses a card called the Myki Card, which can be used on trains, trams, and buses. The Myki Card is available in two options:

• Myki Card Pass: Can be loaded for 7, 14, or 28 days and allows unlimited travel during that period. It can be purchased at any train station or at 7-Eleven stores.
• Myki Money: You load it with a chosen amount of money. With this option, you must remember to touch on when entering and touch off when exiting public transport, so the fare is calculated based on the distance and time traveled.
